CPT Travis Barnes
- Assistant Professor of Military Science
CPT Barnes was raised in Chandler, Arizona, and commissioned as a branch-detailed Armor Officer in 2017 from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. Upon completion of the Armor Basic Officer Leader’s Course in 2018, he was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th US Cavalry Regiment in the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas. While there, he deployed to the Republic of Korea and completed two rotations at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California. When his branch detail ended in 2022, CPT Barnes attended the Logistics Captain’s Career Course at Fort Lee, Virginia. He was then assigned to Fort Jackson, South Carolina where he commanded the Range Support Company for the entire installation, providing range cadre and ammunition support to over 100,000 Trainees attending Basic Combat Training between 2023 and 2025.
